Donbas SOS has some updates: three brand new Acer laptops are now processing data, receiving calls in the call centre and helping volunteers’ and coordinators’ work. It is a long-awaited reality thanks to the sponsorship grant from International Renaissance Foundation and also a discount for the laptops givenby the online store ROZETKA. We are grateful for the opportunity to upgrade our office equipment!
The volunteer’s main task in the call centre is gathering and processing information which was hard to do on the out-of-date equipment. Besides, Donbas SOS is well known on the Web as an information resource that includes website maintenance and updating social network profiles, creating printed materials, communicating with colleagues from other NGO’s, web-conferencing and also online support for volunteers. All that is the work of the coordinators and volunteers who have been provided with the new equipment. Each Acer has Oktell software installedwith a user-friendly interface and ability to receive calls remotely. Now, a coordinator and a volunteer and a case-manager can be in touch more frequently and effectively.
Also, this was the last week when the volunteers of the call centre used mobile phones. The latter have been substituted by a professional call centre that gives a wide range of new possibilities. We process requests faster and handle more calls including those from landline phones. And it means that help will more efficiently reach the people who need it desperately, in particular in the ATO zone.
